Fuego Character Profile
Name:
Brandon Crocker
Alias:
Fuego
Age:
28
Species:
Enhanced Human
Born in:
New Amsterdam (New York)
Gender:
Male
Profession:
Gang Leader
Military Vet
Super Soldier
Vocal description:
Gruff, lacking typical inflections, bordering on monotone, but in a menacing way. For him to speak is for a figure of authority to give an unquestionable command.
Personality:
Brandon Crocker, better known as Fuego, has a personality that commands attention. Something about him just oozes authority. His very presence almost compels others to follow him, a trait he’s used to form his own gang from the ashes of the Hauke crime family after he single handedly took out their leadership in a violent coup. Somber and serious at all times, his very no-nonsense approach to his life and work keeps his gang in line and his apathy for merciless and cruel behavior draws in the most violent and greedy criminals in the New Amsterdam criminal underbelly.
General Appearance
Fuego hasn’t left his grooming habits or style from his days in the military in the past. Somehow, he keeps his activities outside of his gang entirely secret and reportedly nobody has seen him out of his military gear or with any hairstyle besides his military cut. Of other note in his personality is the piercing red eyes that were a side effect of the process used to turn him into a super soldier.
Goals
Fuego’s public facing goal is simple: make as much money as possible in order to better seize control of the city, something that’s seen astounding success following the death of Captain Ultra. He and his gang seek out and hoard a surprising amount of the wealth New Amsterdam has available to it and no bank or civilian is safe from Fuego and his crew. Privately, Fuego wants to do everything in his considerable power to prevent the mistreatment of veterans by society, going so far as to punish the men under his command for stealing from veterans. If asked about his long term goals, he’ll simply respond that he wants to tear down the system that mistreated him and cast him aside.
Inner Conflict
Fuego does feel some regret for the life that he is leading now. He signed up for the super soldier experiment that the US Military was conducting so that he could stop wars, both before and after they’d started. This dream of his got twisted and corrupted by the death of his sister and his subsequent mistreatment at the hands of the military brass. He attempts to appease his guilt and regret by donating his cut of every job to veterans charities anonymously.
Skills
Noticeably stronger than an average human
Notably faster than an average human
Has an accelerated healing rate
Brilliant tactician
Unparalleled marksman
Weaknesses
Fuego doesn’t see the appeal of human emotions, so he has worked to excise that from himself as best as he can, which ultimately leads to him getting overwhelmed by emotions.
Quirks/Habits
While in meetings with his gang, Fuego tends to always have one of his guns out and frequently uses them to put down dissenters to his command.
Fuego tends to gesture wildly while speaking, to the point of near absurdity, especially given the monotone nature of his speech.
Every time that Fuego is exposed to another person’s blood, he makes a point to dip a finger in the blood and smear it on himself.
Quick Bio
Born under the name of Brandon Crocker to struggling teens Michelle Crocker and Tucker Villegas, no other word describes Brandon’s life more than struggle. Shortly after Brandon’s younger sister, Carol, was born when he was two, Tucker Villegas abandoned the family he helped create and the three members of the Crocker household never heard from or saw him again. This created undue hardship on the family and Michelle turned to hard drugs to ease her pains. Ultimately, Michelle passed away from an overdose on Brandon’s 8th birthday. Her dealer, a woman referred to as Sparks, found Michelle’s body abandoned and searched for the kids, eventually finding Brandon and Carol on a park bench in Central Park. In a small gesture of what she considered good will, she took them under her wing and got them involved with the Hauke crime family. The two Crocker kids entered into a situation where they had to earn their keep by doing whatever they could within the family or they’d have to sleep on the streets. Carol didn’t quite have the fortitude to handle this life, so the pair spent more nights than otherwise sleeping on that park bench. Meanwhile, Brandon took to the jobs he was performing for the Hauke family like a fish to water and used what little he could scrape off the top to provide for his sister. Eventually, Brandon was pushed by the family into the schooling system in New Amsterdam to push the agenda of the family. He managed to successfully graduate and stumbled across a US Army recruiter and he saw the chance for him and his sister to get out of their current situation. Brandon sweet talked his handlers into allowing him to join the army for a single contract term and convinced his sister to do the same. Once both Crocker siblings were safely in the hands of the military, they cut all ties with the Hauke family, serving two contracts in the army before Brandon was eventually selected for an experiment designed to create the perfect super soldier. Brandon took to the experiment perfectly, becoming the first successful imbuing of superhuman abilities artificially into a person after Brandon’s strength, speed, and healing abilities increased markedly. After seeing the success with Brandon and the failures with other experimentees, Carol was forced into the program to try to replicate the success. Unfortunately, Carol died in the experiments, just like the other failed experimentees, and this mentally and emotionally broke Brandon. After erratic, aggressive, and antisocial behavior, Brandon was deemed a failure, the super soldier project was shelved, and Brandon was dishonorably discharged for fabricated atrocities as the army attempted to cover their mistakes. Brandon returned to New Amsterdam and tried to integrate back into regular society while avoiding the Hauke family. After two years of jumping from job to job and struggling to make ends meet, Brandon came across Sparks again, purely by accident, and was soon cornered by a Hauke family hit squad. Brandon took the squad by surprise, as they weren’t aware of his enhanced abilities, and mercilessly killed them all. By this point, Brandon had had enough. He adopted the call sign he used as a demolition expert, Fuego, and started performing reconnaissance on and doing small raids on the Hauke family. After gathering all the data and gear he felt he needed, Fuego made a single person assault on the headquarters of the Hauke family. Against all odds, Fuego single handedly took out the entirety of the Hauke family leadership and assumed control of their operations, rebranding the crime family to be the Firebomb Gang. For the month after his hostile takeover, Fuego had his gang operating quietly, until the fateful day that Captain Ultra took his own life. Now, with nobody that could realistically stand up to him and his gang,Fuego ordered the Firebomb Gang to step into the public spotlight. The city has largely been gripped by the throat by the gang, but now there’s a new Captain Ultra and he’s set his sights on interfering with Fuego and the Firebomb Gang…
